Holiday Joy!
Stocks rose Friday during a shortened holiday session. The Dow closed with a gain of 181.84 points to 12,980.88. The SPX added 23.93 points to finish at 1,440.70.
Without much news out on Friday, stocks rebounded after taking a hit this past week. The bulls are hoping that a strong holiday shopping season will show that the economy is not going to fall into a recession.
Main story this week will be oil. Prices have been rising again last week with crude gaining $1.66 a barrel to close Friday at $98.27. With a $100 oil out there I'm sure the markets are not going to like that one when that hits!!
